Vulnerable, character-driven fantasy stories that point back to hope for the fighter in you
Do you remember when...

You were able to pick up any book from the library and just read it? But now you’re looking up books before checking them out, or worse, forgetting and just starting a book only to slam it shut before you’re done.
So many books look promising: an intriguing premise, good hype, a pretty cover (because yes, you like pretty books) - but turn out to be just another one with empty characters, no meaning, and crude content or insinuations that leave you uncomfortable and frustrated.
Is it too much to ask that you just want good, clean books that enrich your life? Books where you can enjoy the plot, characters, and world without compromising on your values?
Maybe it shouldn't be.

Hi, I´m Julia Herkel
I understand missing the thrill of reading a good book for the first time and knowing I’ll never be able to read it again without knowing the twists.
I remember being so engrossed that I could sit for hours, curled up in the corner of a couch in the same position.
And I miss being able to enjoy a book without worrying about turning the page and finding something I don’t want in my head.
That is why today I write fantasy stories about characters who not only grow but choose to fight for life: stories you can escape into and enjoy, but still find allegorical elements that point back to our true source of hope, so you don’t have to sacrifice an interesting plotline for a safe story.
Imagine books that are...
Adventurous
A whole new world you can enter and be invested in, leaving reality behind for a while.
Heroic
Heroes that reach the end of the story and rise, showing you it’s possible and inspiring you that you can do it, too.
Genuine
Relatable character growth that allows you to feel what it is to fight for something that matters, to be defeated - but to still rise from that.
